WG4 Onsite Meeting in Milano, June 13-14, 2024

Catholic University, Milan

The formal proceedings of the WG4 Meeting began in Sala Brasca with a warm welcome from the organizers, Valentina Morgana and Francesca Costa. This session set the stage for the meeting, highlighting its objectives and expected outcomes. Ute Smit and Craig Neville provided a further overview of the meeting’s agenda, pointing out the main key topics :

- A detailed discussion on the current status of data availability and the methodologies employed for data cleaning.

- An outline of the forthcoming report was presented, including its structure and key components.

- The newly developed code booklet was introduced, outlining its features and how it supports the data analysis process.

The afternoon session focused on a workshop dedicated to the development of the report, with a focus on the detailed planning and timeline for the report's completion and a brainstorming session for all participants on site to share their individual interests and how they align with the report’s objectives.

The first day of the meeting ended with a guided walking tour of the university campus, to discover the university's history and lucrative environment.

The second day began with a continuation of the report workshop, which involved addressing any remaining questions from the previous day's sessions. To start the day, we engaged in a 30-minute task aimed at developing a comprehensive glossary for the data utilized in the report. The final session was dedicated to exploring potential publications resulting from the group's work. Attendees had the opportunity to present their ideas for these publications, leading to collaborative discussions. Additionally, we delved into strategies for forming partnerships to enhance our publication efforts. The formal part of the meeting concluded with discussions on the future direction and activities of WG4.

The recent on-site meeting for the WG4 group at Catholic University was incredibly productive. The meeting successfully established a clear path for the upcoming report and laid the groundwork for future publications. Through a combination of formal sessions, interactive workshops, and informal networking opportunities, all attendees were able to engage in a comprehensive and collaborative experience.
